SONGS WE TAUGHT THE DETROIT COBRAS - V/A (Re-Up)

SONGS WE TAUGHT THE DETROIT COBRAS
-cdr
2007 (bootleg)

Re-up! by request from the mighty Chocoreve, no less.

THE summer compilation.
Originally from Mikael at the now-defunct Garagepunk.com forum.

Too bad no one has offered this at a high bit rate for improved sound.

Just goes to show that de gustibus non est disputandam...I think you deleted some of the very best tracks.

@ Gyro: I wasn't lucky enough to get one of Mikael's cd-r's, this was his net share. A couple of tunes just don't sound right when they got downcoded...
Having said that, I don't think that bitrate itself is always the problem. As I go through old files,m there's some amazing 128 and 160 rips that were done on the Fraunhofer codec. LAME may have gotten rid of most artifacts, but it's not everything.

@ Anonymous: I'm not going to discuss the merits of any particular tracks, really only a couple that don't do it for me... I did play this comp at a party last year, and at high volume a few cuts just sounded too noisy, vocals buried. So they had to go.

I suppose I could have just renumbered the tracks and no one would be the wiser. Sheer laziness on my part.

Wow....first O CANADARM re-animates, and then Chocoreve pops up as well?

Welcome back and look forward to seeing what y'all do with the current state of music blogs.

Also: Dgrador, could you re-up your Halloween 2010 comp? I'd love to give it a listen.

Thanks!

I am stunned to run across your blog again! I gave up after the Poppers series fizzled to an end. I'm very happy that you're back. I can't expect the prolific output you once put up, we've all found other ways to stay busy, but I hope you drop us a note every few months.
